The morning commute is a stressful ordeal for millions of workers across the world. Using public transport is the most logical means for many, but it can be frustrating when in a hurry. We are all trying to find ways for a faster and less stressful journey, who wouldn’t? Public transport networks are designed to link the suburban sprawl together, but many of us still have to factor in getting to the nearest station, often a mile or so away. Perhaps a folding kick scooter can provide the missing link:
A Scoot-Commuter is a happy commuter!
On average, we spend an entire year of our lives commuting to and from the office, which equates to around 10,634 hours. In 2003 the average commute time was around 45 minutes, today that number has increased to around 54 minutes every day.
Government statistics have proven that with every mile a commuter travels, their personal happiness decreases, as stress levels increase. This anxiety is caused by lack of control, boredom, delays and prolonged isolation, leading to less overall satisfaction with life. It’s sad, but true. The worst form of transport to cause unhappiness is for those who have to spend 30 minutes or more on a bus, which is 7 per cent of the population.
So, what can be done to combat this? Well, if you are one of the people who can relate to the lack of control and boredom aspect then consider replacing the 15 minute walk to the tram stop and the 15 minute walk from the tram stop to work with a scooter! Not only is it great fun, but it gets you there quicker and is easily foldable to take on public transport along the way.
When you get in to replacing walking with scooting on a regular basis, you will find you start to do it more and more. Why take the car when you are nipping to your local Post Office? Scoot there instead! If you are popping down to the shop to pick up some milk, again, use your Swifty scooter instead. It is a lifestyle change that will not only save you time but give you more enjoyment while performing mundane tasks. Leave a comment and let us know how you use your Swifty Scooter.
